Robinson Bridge Fishing Park & F.D. Roosevelt State Park, US

Day 3 – Sunday – Visit Robinson Bridge Fishing Park, F.D. Roosevelt State Park, and Back to Tampa

This was the last day of the trip and time to return back to home. We visited Robinson Bridge Fishing Park at around 10:10 AM EST after checking out from hotel.

This is one of the several Hamilton County parks that form the Tennessee Riverpark. It is connected to other parks by the 8 mile Tennessee Riverwalk Trail. The park is easily accessible from Amnicola HWY.

The park features picnic tables, grills, children playground, fishing pier, boat ramp and plenty of parking space. Also you get a view of the Tennessee river.

We spent around an hour at the park and started our drive to F.D. Roosevelt State Park. On our way, we first had our lunch and then stopped by Callaway Gardens around 2PM EST to see if we can cover this. We checked with the park employee at the entry and she said that it will atleast take 2 hours even if you just go around the park by vehicle. If you want to spend some time, go around gardens and do activities then need to keep atleast one full day. So we decided to visit this attraction some other time and left from there to F.D. Roosevelt State Park.

It is a 9,049 acres largest state park in Georgia. The park is located on the Pine Mountain Ridge, which is Georgia’s southernmost mountainous area. It offers 40 miles of prime hiking and backpacking trails, including the 23-mile Pine Mountain Trail. We reached the park around 3PM EST.

Dowdell’s Knob is the highest point in F. D. Roosevelt State Park, at 1,395 feet. From this point, one can see beautiful view of the landscape and take photos. As we had a long drive back home, we didn’t spend a lot of time in this park. We left from the park around 3:45 PM EST.

On our way back home, we took a break for dinner at the Indian restaurant and finally reached home around 11:30 PM EST.

That brought an end to our amazing 3-day road trip.
