Fall is the best time to travel and our favorite season of the year. Being a Floridian, we don’t really get to see the mesmerizing colorful display of nature. So every year we plan a trip for fall peeping. In 2015, we took a road trip to North Carolina and drove through the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. We instantly fell in love with the beauty of nature. In 2016, we visited Colorado for its beautiful Aspen trees. Now in 2018, our 8 month old joined us too in exploring New England landscapes.

Before planning a fall trip we always check fall foliage prediction sites to get a better idea of peak. Depending on the region/state you are visiting, there are multiple sites that give past year’s peak reports and future predictions. We referred the below sites for the fall foliage prediction to book our flights. The first two sites has fall foliage maps with calendar. You can choose the dates to see when the peak fall foliage is predicted. When we checked the prediction, the peak was showing around 1st and 2nd week of October. Hence we planned our trip from 6th to 12th October.

Then we did a research on places to visit and came up with few must visit destinations. The plan was to fly from Florida to Maine and then take a road trip through New England, Niagara and New York and fly back from there. In this post I have only covered 4 days of fall trip itinerary. New York, Letch worth State Park and Niagara Falls will be covered in another post.
