Dal Palak is a lentil curry made with palak, toor dal and seasoned with tempering.
Pressure cook dal and keep aside.
Heat little oil in a kadhai. Add mustard seeds. Once it crackles, add hing, curry leaves and turmeric.
Add chopped tomatoes and saute. Add salt and cook for a minute or two.
Add chopped spinach leaves and saute.
Now add boiled and mashed dal. Add water and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
In a small pan, heat little oil and ghee. Once hot, add mustard seeds and jeera. Once they crackle, add chopped garlic and red chilies. lastly add red chili powder.
Pour this tempering on the dal. Give it a good stir.
Serve hot with rice or chapathi.
