It's a sweet,tangy,spicy lentil soup which can be served with rice and pickle.
Wash toor dal very well. In a pressure cooker, add uncooked dal, pinch of turmeric, oil and water. Cook for 3 whistles.
In a kadhai, heat 1 tbsp oil on a medium flame. Add mustard seeds, once they splutter, add curry leaves, asafoetida, green chilies and turmeric.
Pour boiled dal into the tempering and mix well.
Now add chilly powder, goda masala, jaggery, kokum, salt and water. Mix and allow it to boil. Add more water if required.
Now add chopped coriander leaves. Once done, switch off the flame. Add coconut and serve with rice and pickle.
